Best Evolve & Survive Forms
Which bodies deserve Revives after you leave the worm lawn.
Best means “I should spend a Revive to keep this.” It does not mean “this thumbnail is cool.” If you still need a starter ranking, use early-game. If you want the letter system, use the tier list hub. This page is the late-game board.
S-tier mains
Desert scorpion. Claws plus tail space. Official oasis shots put it at the end of shrew → rat → scorpion. In a canyon it controls width that ants cannot cross. Main this if you can reach it without dumping every Revive from codes.
Late centipede (glowing eyes, black-red or saturated red). Hour 24 art exists because this body ends lobbies. Length plus charge wins open desert. Weakness: camera and turning in trees. If you keep clipping palms, you are playing it like an ant. Pull the camera back — controls.
Green mantis. Not always the biggest, but the thumbnail predator for a reason. Reach plus grab threat. Excellent at the worm-and-ant lawn. Less happy in wide cactus flats where scorpions see you first.
A-tier mains
Stag beetle (yellow case). First form that feels armored. Mandibles win ant trades. You still lose a fair scorpion 1v1. This is the Revive breakpoint: spending a life to keep a beetle is rational. Spending a life to keep a worm is not.
Controlled mid centipede. If you got a long body but not the glowing nightmare palette, you are still A. You bully everything B and below. You donate to true S if you overextend into a packed oasis.
Situational A / high B
Purple rat. A desert bridge, not a destination. Fast enough to finish shrew hour. Not a lobby closer. Evolve off it using how to evolve.
Mystery silhouette scorpion. Unranked as a kit until we see the live body. Ranked as a collection trophy. Chase it for Evolvedex, not because Discord called it “secret S.”
Do not main these late
Worm, shrew, and a food-bar ant do not belong on this page except as prey. Turtle is a biome specialist — beach only — and even then it is not a closer. Details live on the early-game list so this page stays about bodies that should still be alive at minute twenty.
How to actually get the best forms
- Finish Eat Food. No S-tier starts hungry.
- Follow a documented line. Grassland to beetle, desert to scorpion.
- Hop servers that are already full of glowing centipedes unless you are also one.
- Bank Revives before the first S-tier fight. Update3 plus likes codes are five lives if you have not spent them.
- Learn the kit on abilities so you do not play a scorpion like a worm with extra legs.
Matchups that decide ranks
- Mantis versus beetle: mantis if it gets the grab; beetle if it wins the head-on trade in the open.
- Scorpion versus mantis: scorpion in desert width; mantis in forest clutter.
- Centipede versus scorpion: centipede in a straight line, scorpion if it can get beside the body.
- Anything versus worm: anything.
These are feel matchups from official sizes and roles, not leaked damage tables. When Structa publishes numbers, we will replace sentences with numbers. Until then, distrust spreadsheets.
After you pick a main
Skin it only after it is your real body — shop guide. Track siblings in Index. If your main falls off after a patch, read updates before you burn Gold on a dead palette. Then go play. Rank letters do not eat the five pickups for you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers players search before they jump back into a server.
What is the best form in Evolve & Survive right now?
Late centipedes and desert scorpions. Mantis is the best lawn hunter. Beetle is the first Revive-worthy body.
Should I main mantis or scorpion?
Mantis in forest and lawn. Scorpion in desert and oasis. Do not force either in the wrong biome.
Is the stag beetle worth a Revive?
Yes. It is the first A-tier body. Worms and shrews are not worth the same life.
Where is the full letter list?
On the tier list hub. This page is the late-game commentary.
